Your role

A Reporter actively pursues all news stories assigned to him by the News Desk Editor and timely provides the assigned DNG Specialist with all the elements necessary for the production of ready-to-air materials for assigned stories selected by the Company for possible airing during newscasts and/or breaking news or flash reports, such as: While pursuing their assigned stories the News Reporter may be required to render live and VO reports during newscasts, including breaking news or flash reports, on any of the Company's platforms.

1. Complete Script, including VO, taglines, and transitions, among others
2. Complete selection of audio and video necessary under the script.

About you

• A graduate of a four-year college degree, preferably in journalism, broadcast communication, or a related field. Excellent knowledge of current events and relevant history.
• Possesses solid experience in the field of news gathering, reporting, and news analysis up to the presentation of news stories.
• Skilled in story-telling, especially in capturing complex situations and telling these in simple terms for the audience to understand. 
• Good and relevant news sense.
• Able to maintain a solid network of sources.
• Good leadership and people skills; able to motivate, mentor, and develop team members.
• Good organizational and analytical skills.
• Quick, flexible, and adaptable, especially in the face of breaking news and special news coverage.
• Able to make credible and sound editorial judgments.
• Excellent in both English and Filipino written and oral communication.
• Able to effectively deal with people from all levels in the organization and the audience.
• able to effectively manage stress, not only of self but also of the team.
• Willing to work extended shifts, including on weekends, holidays, and overnight.
