BACKGROUND
Clean Air Asia is looking for a research intern with skills that include data collection, analysis, research, and stakeholder engagement to support the implementation of the e-mobility pilot project in Pasig City under the Sustainable Transport Program. The internship is suitable for those with a background in environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, and other courses with strong data management and analysis background or related disciplines interested in acquiring practical experience on this topic to contribute to Clean Air Asia's goal of improving policy, building capacity, and informing for action. However, Clean Air Asia welcomes a broad range of skills and expertise.
SCOPE OF WORK
The responsibilities of the intern(s) will be to assist Clean Air Asia with one or two of the following tasks, depending on the applicant's capacity and timeline of engagement:
- Provide support in the socio-economic mapping for Pasig City.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of socio-economic data and other relevant indicators through desktop research and validation of available information from various sources
- Work closely together with project team to develop socio-economic spatial maps using GIS mapping tools (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Assist in the systemic compilation, summary, and synthesis of literature, data, and policies relevant for the development of case studies on good practices of a just e-mobility transition at city level
- Prepare reports and other documentation related to the process
- Assist in the relevant data collection and compilation of information for the impact assessment of electric vehicle pilot demonstration in Pasig
- Assist in relevant data collection through desktop research and validation of available information to assess various key performance indicators for the pilot project
- Work with project team in designing appropriate data collection tools (e.g., questionnaire survey) appropriate for the identified relevant stakeholders
- Prepare reports and other documentation related to the process
- Other relevant tasks under the Sustainable Transport Program
- Perform other tasks as needed for the projects
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA
- A graduate or student in a relevant field such as environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, and other courses with strong data management and analysis background
- Has demonstrated excellent research and oral and written communication skills.
- Has working knowledge or familiarity in developing spatial maps using GIS tools and relevant software (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS) is an advantage
- Has demonstrated skills and working knowledge in data management and analysis
- Has the ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
REMUNERATION
Clean Air Asia offers a modest allowance and flexible time schedule during the internship period but does not fund international travel or provide accommodation for the accepted intern. The internship is on a work-from-home (WFH) basis.
