My responsibilities include generating data from the system, conducting analysis, preparing requested reports, validating data, addressing customer concerns, and facilitating meetings for two areas, a workload typically assigned to two individuals (as I am managing both areas).

Pros and cons of working at Gardenia Bakeries Philippines

Pros

  • My colleagues are not just teammates but also friends, and the camaraderie we share makes even the toughest days enjoyable.

  • The work environment is characterized by supportive and accommodating colleagues, shuttle service and meal allowances are provided, and the leadership is considerate.

  • The environment is built on the core value of 'malasakit,' which means caring or solicitude for others.

  • The company provides a lot of programs for newly hired and tenure employees including orientations, career development seminars, and more.

  • The company offers daily free-of-charge bread to its employees, as well as free shuttle services and meal allowance.

Cons

    • The most challenging aspect is the heavy workload, which affects my productivity due to the lack of manpower and inadequate distribution of tasks among workers.

    • Maintaining a strong work-life balance can be difficult during busy periods where work demands more attention.

    • While the hours are fair, having a bit more flexibility could help with managing personal commitments and work tasks better.

    • Advancement is generally based on a combination of performance, tenure, and demonstrated skills, but the long time frame to transition from probationary to regular status can be a challenge.

    • The salary at my company is not very competitive, particularly given that I am effectively performing the duties of two employees while maintaining the same rate of pay.
