The Associate Operations Analyst role of JH BUY Value Stream Shared Services coordinate and plan release activities ensuring that changes are documented, tested and managed in a controlled manner with a focus on minimizing risk.
• Assist Release Manager to identify and document risk exceptions and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure that proper release documentation is filed by associated groups in accordance with SDLC guidelines
• Assist Release Manager to document release related issues and develop mitigation plans for future releases
• Assist Release manager to ensure that production releases are planned and scheduled without any negative impact to the system
• Update release procedures and other documents as needed (e.g. SharePoint, team/project folders, etc.)
• Collaborate with Release Engineer to improve processes and or tools
• Facilitate meetings to support release readiness and collaborate with stakeholders
• Help the release coordinator by creating requests for change and obtaining appropriate approvals, as well as attend CAB meetings
• Support DevOps priorities
Any additional responsibilities or functions that will be provided by the MBPS Management Team or the Manulife Business Unit as deemed necessary in the course of the business operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of overall IT experience
• Working knowledge of ITIL Release and Change Management processes, software development methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, Agile)
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills to work with technical and non-technical audiences
• Has great attention to details
• Experience working with business and collaboration tools (MS Office, SharePoint and Service Now, PowerBI)
• ITIL certification is a plus
• Amenable to work during night shift
