Caro Wilson explores interdisciplinary form-making at an ergonometric level, items that fit a human wrist (such as bracelets), or for a human hand to rest a coffee mug upon (such as sidetables), and that provide light by which humans can see better (lighting). The studio is directed by Mark Wilson, Filipino-American, who has received degrees from Harvard (BA History of Fine Arts), Pratt (Interior Design), & Parsons The New School (MFA Lighting Design).
Mark has an ancillary studio, Wilson Escalona, which is dedicated to Interior Design, but enjoys the ability to work at a smaller scale, hence the foray into furniture, lighting, and jewelry. The forms are often inspired by folk art from the Mountain Province, as expressed in the Caro Wilson Cordillera Bracelet. Mark believes in rich form-making that blends function, luxurious materials, fine craftsmanship, & emotional appeal.
One reason to chose Caro Wilson is the mentorship that Mark believes in giving to the assistants that work with him. Design is an apprenticeship process, whereby the senior design passes on experience, knowledge, and ways of doing things to junior designers.

The process involves a phone interview at first, then a live interview, then one-week paid work before both parties decide that the position is right.
Successful applicants will discern a good fit between the company and themselves. Skills are very important, but so is fit & professional connection to the work.
Remuneration is based on experience. All benefits required by law are given, including overtime pay, remittances to government benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pagibig), sick leave & vacation leave, 13th month pay.
